Gilead cumpără Arcellx într-o afacere de aproape 8 miliarde de dolari

Potrivit statnews.com, Gilead Sciences a anunțat luni achiziția Arcellx într-o tranzacție în valoare de 7,8 miliarde de dolari, fuzionând două companii biotehnologice care colaborează deja la un tratament CAR-T pentru mielomul multiplu.

Tranzacția evaluează Arcellx la 115 dolari per acțiune, ceea ce reprezintă un premium de 79% față de închiderea acțiunilor de vineri. De asemenea, acționarii Arcellx vor fi eligibili pentru un plată suplimentară de 5 dolari per acțiune, în funcție de atingerea unui obiectiv de vânzări viitor.

Elementul central al afacerii este o terapie CAR-T experimentală numită anito-cel, care a fost inițial dezvoltată de Arcellx. Din 2023, terapia a fost co-dezvoltată de Kite Pharma, divizia de terapii celulare a Gilead, ca parte a unui acord de colaborare și co-marketing.
